This morning I woke up feeling well, a certain sinus headache which has thankfully gone away. But I also feel the euphoria that comes after the headache gone. Remember that old commercial, "Gone? Gone? My headache's gone!" There's a certain amount of truth in that. There's such a relief.
Today, the sun is shining, I'm about to take a 2 1/2 mile walk in it. The temp is probably about 75 right now and the air is just balmy. I'm sure the birds will be singing as I walk. I breathe it in every time I take these walks. For so long with my foot operation I was in so much pain and now that is behind me, thank God.
I'm dieting, but you know, it's not hard this time. The food tastes wonderful and I'm just grateful for every pound I lose and every good step I take. While I'm not quite at the "senior citizen" level yet, yep here it's 62 and I have a bit to wait, I'm still not a kid anymore. To have my health, to be able to walk long walks, and go to the gym is just wonderful. I'm grateful.
So today, God, I'm grateful for the sky above and the birds singing. I'm grateful for feet that don't hurt, for walking long walks and enjoying nature, for the love of a good man and for my sons. I'm grateful for health and for every day as it comes to meet me. We have to be able to learn to be grateful for the little things as well as the big ones.
Have a great Saturday.
