Ever since last Friday the front page of the American has been inundated with stories of a scandal involving a former football star from South Mississippi named Steve McNair. I know zilch about football but he was with the Titans the year they won the superbowl, so I've learned.
McNair, 36 years old, married with children, had an apartment with a friend in Nashville--across town from his wife and children-- so they could have their rendezvous with young ladies. A 20 year old girl named Sahel Kazemi became involved in an affair with McNair and he took her on trips and bought her a car. She introduced him to her family and told friend he was gonna divorce his wife and marry her. She sold her belongings.
It is speculated she realized he was a "player" who dated other girls and was not sincere about divorcing his wife. She bought a gun and shot him four times, then killed herself, in the rendezvous apartment. Â Mcnair's wife was distraught and says she didn't know about his double life (?)
What is it with these football guys? They come from obscurity, make a ton of money then go ape sh*t with women and playing around and getting into all kind of serious trouble. Just like with the Michael Jackson thing, when the media around here says anything about his personal life that led to this denouement and demise they are scolded to recall only the good things. But everyone's life is woven of good and bad--you can't separate them out.
