I've written about TrueBlood before, but want to let fans know that the new (second season) of Alan Ball's vampire melodrama will begin June 14 on HBO.
This past week three episodes in succession of season one have aired every night to catch viewers up on the plot and give us die hard fans another look.
I must say that the southern accents of the cast are spot on, no fakey sounding dialects at all. Which is good, since Trueblood is set in Bon Temps Louisiana in a backwoods bayou. The show is bloody, gore-y, sex saturated, violent, yet compelling, and Alan Ball had to have had some roots in the south because there are moments of absolute southern-ness that have to be lived to know about.
What a tale! Vampires, the vampire bar "Fangtasia" shape shifters, a serial murderer; this show has it all.
Ball is a genius with dialog, and visuals.
And one character, the 1,000 year old vampire, Eric the Northman with his broody good looks and straight blond hair is a treat to look at. So bite me, you hunk!
