(Friend Dottie suggested I see if the virus protection she uses had a free edition, and they did so I down loaded it and am hoping it works!)
At 5am yesterday morning I woke to go to bathroom, and heard the wind chimes clanging on the carport. It had turned cold and windy overnight. Glad I hadn't taken those two quilts off my bed yet. Although it was pitch dark, I heard my neighbor's banty rooster crowing; a sound I like.
Now how in the dark did that rooster know dawn was coming--there was no hint of sunrise yet. Just like a seed knows in its atoms to sprout and grow, that rooster instinctively knew daylight was coming and crowed to greet it.
I stepped outside to breathe in that cold air; fresh, glacial, sweet smelling air, the kind of brisk freshness you get when you blow over a glass of ice cubes, then went back to bed to snuggle under the quilts, content to know for a moment all was right with the world.
