I read this on MSN Lifestyle: Some women are giving up shampoo-ing their hair, maybe as part of the Green Movement or whatever. Supposedly women following this "no-poo" trend only use hot water to rinse their hair, or sometimes use a little baking soda and hot water.
I say Yuck! Phew! Skanky! Shampoo is a great invention, and when you use it you are not only cleaning your hair, but your scalp too. Hot water with or without baking soda will not clean your scalp. It wouldn't take long for that hot water rinsed hair to start smelling musty and fusty.
No, you no-poos, it took thousands of years of civilization before Suave came along to invent strawberry scented shampoo that you can buy as cheaply as a cup of coffee, and you want to go Neanderthal on us?  What next--are you gonna stop using deoderants too? And it's not using tools that separates us from our ape cousins--no darlins', it's that humans use bath soap and shampoo and shave their underarms.
Shampoo-ing makes your head feel soooo good! The MSN article asked this question: How long have you gone without shampoo-ing your hair? Come on bloggers, Â fess up and tell me!
