I listened to an interview today on NPR with George Carlin (recorded four years ago.) I liked his humor and his routine about "Stuff." He was recently on HBO with a new routine "It's Bad, And It'll Hurt Ya." Sorry he's gone. PS That Conan O'Brien joke about George and a pop-up book has me still laughing.

Good grief!! I don't have testicles etc. but reading that made my lower parts cringe! That woman is obviously mentally ill. A normal person couldn't/wouldn't do that.

Gruesome what a "new" and malicious woman can do to perfectly normal and healthy relationships--but a man who allows a woman to influence his behavior toward his children??!! What's wrong with that man? Good for you; the judicial system backed up your common sense. (I have an awful divorce tale, but try not to think about it.)

Living on a boat sounds better than it probably would have been in the real life day to day grind, (loved jon's description!) but I'm sorry you and J didn't get to try it.
Mmmm. Martha sounds like she has some obsessive compulsive problems with money. Don't believe I've ever done any of the things she purports, though I am known to be "tight" with money. Out of necessity. But you also gotta smell the roses and go out to eat Mexican once in a while too--guilt free.
dear marta; your poem was lovely. when my mother died the grief wasn't nearly as bad as when daddy passed away--when he died, I really felt like an orphan.
