The TracFone company is so irritating. After numerous calls and computer notices from them, a rep. called yesterday practically hysterical saying my time was up to buy a new card, and I had to do it now!! I detest being pressured like that. I knew I didn't need to buy a new card till today.
So this am, I hauled off to Wallymart and purchased a card and had the clerk program in in for me. I only keep the thing for emergency use. It's not worth much, but I reckon it'll do. I don't want to be tied up in a contract etc.

So in the aisle of Walmart I ran across a woman I worked with over 20 years ago. After a few minutes of chitchat, she asked if I went to church. Oh No! why do Baptists feel the need to proselytize? I know why of course. It's part of their church doctrine, to make sure everybody's been born again, "saved" etc.

I said I preferred not to discuss religion, but did ask if her church have an outreach program. Well, no, they don't. If a church isn't out in the community trying to help people, they're not a real church--just my opinion.
Otherwise they're just a social club of smug self satisfied folks who think they have the inside scoop on getting to heaven--and since I don't believe in a heaven in the sky, churchy doesn't appeal to me.

The nice lady said she'd pray for me and took her leave--and I know she was thinking "That gal's going to hell."
I bought a can of toasted pecans and a CD of Creedence Clearwater, and very contentedly and serenely drove home eating pecans and listening to CCR, thinking if there's a BIG GUY IN THE SKY, he likes me as much as he does her, and if I want to see God, I look to nature.
