I intended to eat Christmas dinner out, but Noooo, every restaurant in the deep south is closed for Christmas. So I wound up going to the store during tornado-ish weather to get supplies. I bought a ham. Why? I have no need for a big hunk of meat. I got the butcher to cut it in half and asked him how he would cook it ( I have rarely cooked a ham.) He said he puts his in a crock pot.
I came home and stuffed both halves in the crock pot. Then I washed and greased some sweet potatoes and put 'em in the oven. The oil burned and started to smoke and almost suffocated me. I intended to get up tomorrow and make dressing and a couple of other things, but may not. What a bummer--I'd much rather eat a meal out and be done with it. What to Jews, Bhuddist, and other non Christian people do on the 25th if they want to eat out? Stay home and cook like me, I suppose.
