Yesterday I was blocked from pulling up in my driveway by a car parked there. I had to pull off the side of the road. I honked the car horn--intruder didn't move. Honked again. Slowly a woman backed out and I hollered "You're blocking my driveway--can I help you?"
She said she was a census worker just getting my house number down on her papers, and there would be someone around later--I forget if she said "later this year" or "next year." Mississippi is really hot to trot on getting everyone accounted for because our decrease in population in the last census caused Mississippi to lose a seat in Washington.
A few years ago I got one of those eight page census forms to mail in wherein I was quizzed about everything except when I had my last BM, and the government might have asked about that too if they'd thought about it--they could collate that in their data-"50% of Americans have a BM every day!!"
The census is very nosy and people aren't 100% truthful--I don't think, anyway. Have you heard from the census folks yourself?
