After I went to the County and to the DMV twice and paid $110 to them to reinstate my license. I was the proud law abiding citizen. The system is not designed to help anyone, especially not those of us who are law abiding. I mean I took the notice seriously. So seriously that I went to the extreme to take a day off work to deal with it.
Apparently, the county had assessed me with a fee of $20. If I had known that I would have paid it. I didn't know that. When I told the county this, they said. "We send that notice out as a courtesy." So after that fun trip I went to the DMV where they informed me that I needed my passport or birth certificate to get my license back. Seriously ridiculous.
Thursday evening, Cookie showed up to happy hour and met some of my friends. It went well but he was totally MIA for the whole day which I was not a huge fan of. Afterwards, we came back to my place to watch a movie. It was code word for making out, but I was sleepy from the beer and was laying around lazily. He left and I was kind of less than enthusiastic.
Friday came around and I sent him a text based upon Kristy's recommendation. He didn't write me back right away which further put me over the edge. However, he quickly recovered with a text that said: still driving, to be honest I would rather be cooking you dinner :). All was well in cookie land again. Haha. After the DMV, I met up with my neighbor S for some pool time. It was raining the whole time but I was not caught indoors, which was good. I was supposed to go out with TG. But I was bored and searching CL and I came across a post by him. I quickly cancelled our get together, and told him I thought we were looking for different things. I decided to lay low and was emotionally exhausted.
Saturday the weather was quite lovely. I took Spike for a hike and then came home to hang out at the pool. I got some sunburn which is nice because I am a shade other than clear. Saturday night was wine night @ Kristy's house. I stayed till 1030 when I was super tired and went home and fell asleep.
On Sunday I was supposed to go to brunch with an old SSL coworker. She called and canceled which was fine because I discovered that I am essentially broke till next month. I went to the pool to get more sunburned... Afterwards I went home and snuggled with Spike and cleaned up a bit. Cookie arrived around 7 pm after getting lost and he showed up with the lovely bouquet you see pictured here.

I was so touched, it brought the biggest smile to my face. My attitude from Thursday was immediately adjusted. So he got to cooking up a storm at my house, while I sipped on champagne and listened to music. He made me a divine marinara sauce over fettechini noodles, an amazing salad, and he brought cheese and pepperoni and tiramsu for dessert. Not only did he do this, he brought me a yankee's t-shirt. This is funny to me because I hate the yankees. He really knows how to take care of a girl and its a pretty awesome place to be. He told me that it wasn't a cooking party and that I couldn't help anymore. He kicked me out of the kitchen. We didn't get to the tiramasu and we have tons of left overs so he's going to come over tonight for some yummy left overs. After the cooking, I cleaned up because it was only fair. The man had gone to the store and cooked me up a feast fit for a queen. We ended the night with a hot and heavy make out session. His hands were starting to roam.. but I told him that I really just wanted to take things slowly. He sent me a text that it's hard to be a good boy around me, but that I was so worth the wait.
*Sighs* I am pretty sure I am going to fall and fall hard. I am just trying to be cautious about it all, and hopefully it will work out the way it's supposed to. I hope you're all doing well. Happy Monday!
"I am a shade other than clear." That cracked me up
