I took Spike to the vet on Tuesday and was hoping that it would be a relatively low cost vet bill. After a few tests, I checked out and it was $199. I thought great, I got off cheap this exam. So I waited outside for the blood test results. The vet came out and said, he's tested positive for Lyme's disease. I was like ok. What does that mean?
He went on to say, "Well if you talk to 5 specialist they will tell you 5 different things." He did go on to say that it was more than likely that he was just "exposed" to the disease and that he hadn't developed it. He recommended treating it anyway, and taking more blood and a urine sample. Thankfuly I have trained spike to pee on command. I stamp my foot and say go poddy right now. It usually brings the result. We were lucky and we got the sample. I am awaiting the results to find out if it has affected the kidneys or the liver.
The week has flown by, I have waffled between ridiculously worried and blaze. It's not that I don't care, it's that I am waiting to find out what the dealio is. I am going to ask the vet if this is something that we're going to have to live with for the rest of our lives. Or what.
In any event. I hope you're doing well.
Happy Thursday. SB
