Yesterday was Audrey's big day. She had a 8:30 am appointment at the humane society to be spayed.

She would be ready to go home at 3:30 pm we were told, so we came back to pick her up exactly at 3:30 pm.

When we pulled into the parking lot, there was a older man about my age standing in the middle of the parking lot, and then I noticed a lady sitting at the back of a older wagon with the tailgate down. We parked and as we walked by, we noticed the lady was crying, and the dog laying in the back had died. The man told me they just lost their dog of 16 years. I expressed my condolences, and told him that it was not easy to deal with that I had gone through the same thing a few years ago. Before Jester there was Seven, a large red dog, who loved everyone, and had a thing about chasing squirrels! Meanwhile Pat starts crying and told them about her last cat Skye and how she died on her birthday two years ago.

As we left and walked to the building two employees were rolling a gurney to the car to remove the dog. I was upset as well as Pat. We went in picked up Audrey and took her home. She was groggy and wanted to eat big time, (remember she was named after Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors) so we had to ease the food to her so she wouldn't get sick.

Today, she is feeling her normal self, playing with Jester's tail, and climbing the Christmas tree.
