I wrote yesterday about M's adjustment issues. I'm glad to report that none of them appear at school, at least not directly!
Today was M's awards ceremony. Chris came and my mom and dad...always interesting. My mom didn't speak-at least not any word that was intelligible. Chris sat on one side and my mom and dad on the other. They didn't want to sit by each other so all of them were once again reminded this was about M-not us.
M got three awards-all A honor roll, citizenship award, and the most accelerated reader points for the year. I will say the citizenship award is the one that makes me the proudest. It's hard to be that kind of person all the time. I sure wouldn't have won the citizenship award as a child.
She is pretty amazing in that way though. She honestly doesn't mind giving things up for other kids or helping people any way she can. I think that award is the one that can really get you the farthest in life. A pretty special kid.
She had to go home after that. Something happened and her insulin pump wasn't working. Her ketones were in the dangerous zone. So she got her awards and went home with Gran and Grandaddy. Slept all the way. Changed her pump out and in a couple of hours she was good to go. Now you would never guess she had been sick earlier today. She's running all over the house!
