Best of Honolulu: Best Place to Make Art

We have a newspaper called the Honolulu Weekly that has a "Best Of" contest every year. Well the Rubber Stamp Plantation made the list!!! For all of you who don't know this is where my hubby works (also many of my friends work here...it's owned by my buddy Deb Z). If you ever take a trip to Honolulu I strongly suggest you stop by their shop for some amazing fun! Also check out stamp club night...what a blast!!

We gotta admit, this one threw us for a loop. Turns out, there may be a new subculture within the art community that totally wasn’t on our radar. Their Kakaako workshop and showroom (or online product site) provides you with a place to choose from their wide selection of Hawaiian- and Asian-themed rubber stamps. (Hey nightclubs, if you’re going to mark up the undersides of our wrists, check this place out for something cool to rock for the rest of the evening.) In addition to rubber stamps, they also carry stickers, glass etchings, decals, license plate frames and more. It’s not quite “making art,” but then again, maybe it’s all a matter of where and what you’re slapping or stamping these products on. 746 Ilaniwai St., [rubberstampplantation.com]

It sounds like a really fun place to visit and to work. I like those 'best of' contests because we learn about places around town we never knew existed.
