My Story

hello to all, well as some of you know i had a bout with the big c 2 years ago it started when both kev and i went to the doctors our doctor happened to ask me how i was and kev told him i was to busy worrying about his health and not my own.

so he immediately wanted to send me for a mammogram and other tests so i thought yeah right pfffttt , lol then one day we had to go to a medical center to have kevs teeth fixed and at top of stairs was the breast screen Australia he told me to go make apt i hummed and harred but went



a week went by and didn't hear anything so i thought ok all must b good Not SO lol that day they rang to say i had to go to a bigger place in Adelaide would take all day as there was an abnormality on my breast they wanted check

we went i had another mammogram an ultra sound and a needle biopsy wasn't a fun day i tell yas lol anyway they gave us the news and then i had to have needle stuck in boob with carbon as the carbon shows the surgeon were lump was anyway this ass on a friday on the monday an apt was made for me by them for our doctor who then made apt for me for hosp to see surgeon well my surgeon is amazing her name is sabetha shes so easy to talk to and that is great she told me there was no infection around lump and i would keep my boob phewwww but she wanted me to have bone density test a full body scan and blood tests the lot lol so i did was all so very daunting but neccassery

when i back to her after all that it was a monday i think and she wanted me to have op that Wednesday i told i couldn't that day as i needed to make sure house was all clean and washing etc was done she laughed and under stood so the following Wednesday i went kev and my daughter were with me i went to theater late afternoon after havin about 5 needles in boob to try and find the lymph nodes ouch

i woke up feeling like hell lol as u do

kev and mandy went and next morning i came home we had to swap sides of bed lol as i couldn't lay on that left side but i managed

then came the radiation treatment 5 weeks everyday going up to hospital except for weekends the crew at radiology were magic loved em all un fortunately

i was burned really bad and had to have the site dressed 3 times a day i honestly didn't know what had hit me was then feeling very sore and very sorry for myself



and i was seeing sabetha also in between the radiation she was so worried about the burns but hey i have survived.



i have keep me boob however if i had of lost it then so be it i didnt know that there were many types of breast cancer and there is mine was the type that feeds on female hormones so if the B C comes back im on a tablet now that will help stop that it is putting me through the menopause again am not impressed lol as its twice as bad this time but sabetha told me i have to keep taking it she said the tab is fighting for me



she wont take me off them lol i have nights were i cant sleep i have hot flushes all the time and i was so angry and snappy i told her this so she said that wasn't me and has put me on another type of tab to take the edge of that other tab lol

now i have changed my thinking on a lot on stuff believe me you only get one chance at life and its to short now if i don't like something i will say etc

and i really urge women to have regular mammograms and have boobs checked regular



now my daughter has to have them and later in life my granddaughters to and even our brand new great granddaughter will also as she gets older to i will post some pics of her soon too



so now atm am all good havea boob a tad smaller than other but hey who gives a damn am here still and that to me is all that matters be back again soon hugss to all
