Bye Bye Birdie

Yesterday a bird flew into my house. It was a little sparrow hen. I was on the computer when I heard a terrific flapping and thumping. The sparrow was up against the front window, frantic. The dog was jumping off the furniture, frantic.

This has happened before, so I calmly placed the dog outside, closed the door to the livingroom, found a large piece of cardboard, wafted the bird away from the window, closed the livingroom curtains, opened the livingroom door and zip!

....bye bye birdie....

Our uninvited guest was a bat who came in through our chimney. We discovered him/her hanging inside the fireplace but luckily the fireplace is enclosed with glass doors. When we tried to get it out, it escaped into the house but quickly found an open door. Phew!!!!! Meanwhile, I was hiding out in another room until it was gone.

My birds have all been invited in by a cat. Try capturing two cats that have a hankering for a birdie dinner, closing drapes, removing screens from the windows, opening all doors and keeping an eye on the breakables on the mantle. Have I ever told you about the snake I found under the hearth? I doubt that slithered in all by itself.

Oh!you had me fooled.Thought you were giving a review on this movie.
We had a similar problems with this but we fixed this by putting decal on the windows. For a while there the birds will fly in and hit the window.
But did not get wounded .Felt kind of sad to see this happen.
For now things are fine and no widow smashing.

Lucky for the bird that you were a cool thinker and did all the right things, it was your good deed for the day. If you will pardon the expression, I would have been in a big flap. Well done Nurse.

Oh, what an exciting time. I'll never forget the time a baby rabbit got into our house.
