Dog Walk

My sister and her husband went to Hawaii and they left their dog with my mum. Today I took the dog for a walk for about half an hour. It's a really old dog so we didn't go far and we travelled slowly. I took in details that I wouldn't normally have noticed.
One interesting thing was a house on my mum's block. It was small and looked abandoned. I thought "There's a crappy little house." There were notices posted in the windows. I went closer to check it out. The notices declared that the house had been reposessed due to failure to pay. No tresspassing etc.... Of course I looked in the windows. A sad little house. There was a pile of junk in the carport: a rusty, partially dismantled electric wheelchair, a kid's bike, some pots, a piece of furniture, a spare wheel and other bric-a-brac. It looked as if someone had moved out in a hurry and never came back for the last load. Kind of sad. It strongly echoed the pathetic scenes of abandoned homes in the States. Through the carport, there was a gate leading to a substantial backyard with great old trees. It, too, had a neglected look about it with children's toys half-buried by unmown grass.
Here in my town, this crappy little house won't sit empty and crappy for long.

It does make you wonder what the story is behind a house like this one. I'll have to take a look when I next visit Mum. PS Tartan enjoys his walks even if he is old and can't go far. Thanks.

That is sad. I hope the people who lost the house are ok.

Every time I see a house like that I want to buy it and fix it up but DH says no.

Believe me when I say that it's not just crappy it's a down-right ****** house. A tearer downer rather than a fixer upper. Check it out next time you're here.

We have whole neighborhoods like that here in Las Vegas (Colorado, too), very sad. And they don't sell very fast. You all are lucky for it to be a rare occurrence. Sending a hug to the old dog.

The crappy little house will probably sell for over $200,000.
