Sweltering

Now, some of you folks south and east of here may laugh at me, but in our part of the world, 35 degrees C is insane.

We're just not equipped to deal with it. Luckily many of us have basements to retire to, but this year my computer was moved upstairs and my downstairs converted into a storage facility. (It stores all the junk that came out of the upstairs room where I now have my computer!)

There's no breeze today, which is unusual, as we often have windstorms during the summer. Just look at all the repairs to my 2-year-old gazebo roof.

My new dog is smart enough to slink down to the basement and lie on the floor during the hottest part of the day. Unfortunately, she seemed to think it would also make a convenient latrine. So that's another reason I haven't been in the basement lately. Luckily she's improved in this department. I placed her in the confines of the bathroom with her bed for a few days when I was out and at night.
Too hot to do that now.

As nittineedles pointed out, we're looking forward to temps back down in the 20s where they should be.
Sorry I can't translate this into Fahrenheit - I'd have to google it.

Well, don't send that hot weather over this way. A lot of our weather comes from your direction.

Tonight we sleep in the guestroom. Its cooler down there. Glad to hear that the doggie do issue is/has improved. Time for a cold one (water).

Sounds like cool advice to me, except I don't have a basement, perhaps I could dig a trench outside and put a Tarp over it, or fill it with water and pretend it's a pool, fortunately I do have the cold beer.

I don't know what that is in centigrade.

Wow, had no Idea it could be that hot there. We have had a mild summer, only a handful of days over 100.

Douse the basement floor with Febreeze and set up a chair to sit in, a lamp to read by, a book to read and a nice cold beer to drink. Keep cool.

Febreeze - check!
Frosted glass of Sleeman's Pale Ale - check!
Ummmm that's good enough for me!
