There are books on this too. I know many people who have adopted... I agree with Kristy that it's amazing because you're giving a child a home that the biological parents are unable or unwilling to give it. No matter what you decide we'll support ya.

I gotta say that from the things my wife tells me about delievering 6th or 8th or even 10th kid to some lady who doesn't even have custody of any of the others and is whacked out on drugs and alchohol while delivering, yeah I'm a big fan of adoption.

My sister's first daughter was given up for adoption. It is an open adoption and we have spent many birthdays with her adopted family. She knows who we are and it's very open and honest but she calls her adopted parents mom & dad. We have gone over many times to have dinner & such & can pretty much see her any time as long as we give the family enought notice (just like you would with anyone). it's a very positive & open & loving environment.

I have several family members who are adopted. And know several friends who have. I think it's great...give kids a chance to have a life and a home.

I know tons of people who are adopted or who have adopted. The girl I used to dance with was adpoted, and she had no intention of ever contacting her birth parents. The lady I work with just adopted a little girl whose mother had 4 kids and could no longer provide for her. The lady is thrilled, and has been trying to have kids for years. Good Luck with whatever you decide

I know of people who are adopted, yes. And they are all happy and doing well! My aunt wasn't able to conceive (sp?) and she ended up adopting from guatamala I think... those kids are aDORABLE and seems to be doing wonderfully. I think it's a wonderful gift to give to a baby that might otherwise have to grow up in not the best circumstances!
