This morning, my Mom and I went to our local animal rescue center to drop off towels/blankets, animal toys, a heating pad and some canned dog food.
We came home with a puppy.
It was unplanned but when we learned of the puppy's
reason for being at the rescue center, our hearts went out to her. Her previous owners didn't want her strictly because their child thought she was ugly and wanted a pretty puppy instead.
So, with no further adieu...
Say hello to Riley's baby sister, Lulu. She’s a three month old Australian Cattle Dog (for you movie buffs, she’s the same breed as the dog in The Road Warrior).
As we were driving her home, I guess the car ride was a little nutty for her so she threw up quite a few times… LOTS of puppy food all over the front seat. Not exactly a good smell. I felt really bad for her. And I was worried that as soon as we got her home, she and Riley wouldn’t get along well, and at first, Riley was understandably freaked out by her. So she and I went for a walk and played outside for a little while. My Mom stayed in the house with Lulu who was obviously a little freaked out herself.
But when Riley and I returned from outside, Lulu was waiting and she pounced on Riley immediately.
… and then after that, the two of them got along famously…
I kinda hope Riley doesn’t feel unloved, like some dogs do when you bring home a new addition to the family. But so far, she’s been coping pretty well.
Btw I looked at your playlist ans saw some great songs. Lola by the kinks is not quite a hit anymore, how come you like it? Also Melt with you is a great one! Some suggestions: "Creep" by Radiohead and "drying your eyes mate" by the Streets
