Yesterday proved to be an easy day for me. As most of you know, I generally work a 4 1/2 hour shift on Sundays for some overtime. Well, we had another snow storm come through. We actually weren't supposed to get too much snow, but it seems like the meteorologists underestimated things just a little bit. They were guessing 2-3 inches, but we ended up officially getting 7 inches.
That is really not a ton of snow, but because of the timing, it did mean the Director of my library opted not to have us open. That meant I had the whole day to myself, which was a really nice surprise.
It was actually one of those really pretty snow storms. The snow was really light and fluffy. It is the kind that sticks to everything so it looks like a winter wonderland. Even better, the cleanup ends up being easier because you can just push it aside. It is not all that heavy.
I think Ray was actually excited. He broke down and bought a new snowblower this past week. We used to have two: one for our house and another for the rental property so we would nave have to drive them back and forth to do the cleanup. Well, the one for our house was a bit of a lemon and seemed to be eternally broken once the warranty ended. Well, he got to use the new snowblower yesterday and it only took 20 minutes to clean the whole driveway.
Our driveway is kind of long and curves down a hill a bit, which makes things a little bit more challenging when everything is icy.
Anyway, thanks to the storm, I am getting a full two-day weekend even though it was a week when I had to work on a Saturday! I know I was happy.
