This is going to probably seem like a weird post coming from me. I am not overly big on talking about grooming. It is not that I don't do it ... heck, we all groom. I just don't really do a lot of sharing in this area.

One of the things I was thinking about while starting to type this up is how little teaching we do in the area of grooming for guys. Granted, ladies get to do a lot more in that area when you think about the whole makeup thing. I don't think anyone ever taught me about most of the grooming that I do.

I taught myself to shave. I was raised by a single mother because my dad died when I was pretty young. As a result, I still don't use shaving cream. It is just me, a razor, and warm running water as soon as I step out of the steamy shower.

Forget the whole manscaping thing. Guys do it to different levels, and that seems to change with the times as chest hair seems to go in and out of fashion. It is a much bigger deal in the gay community where guys get classified by various animal types based on hairiness, age, and body weight. Don't ask. I am not sure I even understand it myself. It is just a fact of life.

So, back to the topic that got me started. I have pretty full eyebrows. They were never really out of control until recently. The problem that had me concerned is that I was sort of afraid to play around with cutting them. I didn't really want to do any shaping. Heck, I didn't have a problem with it. I just wanted to trim the hair down before it looked like I had two little Albert Einsteins sitting on the edge of my forehead.

Ray happened to notice that one of the hairs in one of my eyebrows was sticking up while we were playing cards, and I happened to mention my problem with the ladies at the table and they said I should just get an eyebrow trimmer. I said that I was concerned about trimming too short and looking freaky. They said it wouldn't be a problem, just do it slowly. Well, I figured I would try my beard trimmer. I worked from the highest setting down, swiping each time, until I reached a point that I was happy with the results.

Now, I am happy to say, I don't have to worry about it any more. It seems all sorted out.
