After finishing with packing up the remaining books at the sale, I rushed home to jump in the shower so I could join Ray for another evening of scat with the ladies at the housing complex at the end of our street. It is really fun playing cards with them. The funny thing is I never one a hand, but I had so much fun laughing and joking around that you wouldn't have known that.
One of the funny things is that they really did shock me. I guess I never really think of older ladies as having ... er ... what is a good way to say this ... POTTY MOUTHS! Yes, these ladies are not only good at cards, but they had their minds in the gutter the whole time. The evening was filled with double entendre and lots of laughter. Don't get me wrong; I do not shock easily.
One of the ladies was joined by her granddaughter, who is a couple of years older than me. She lives in the complex in her mom's apartment. She and her gram, who Ray and I also call Gram, are part of the gaming fun.
From what I can tell, everyone takes turn bringing tasty snacks to share with the rest so there is everything from fresh baked goods to candy cigs.
I am so glad that I got around to deciding to join Ray. It is making for a really tight schedule since that was a good chunk of time (about 3 hours) that I usually devote to workign on my class, but it is definintely worth it.
