While I did get my summer reading booklet done, I had a rough afternoon. Maybe it is just the fact that the kids are getting to the end of the school year, but they have been a bit short-tempered.
We were playing Scene-It?, Jr., which is a bit of a favorite for them. They usually have a great time. Some of them were being sore winners and others were being sore losers. The problem was the most of them were just being testy and argumentative with each other.
I don't usually get too frustrated with the kids because they are all great kids. I was really close to just packing up the game and saying we were done for the day because of it all.
I think they finally realized how irked I was because they started to settled down, and one of the girls even apologized for the way she had been acting.
It really is funny. That is why I love working with middle and high schoolers. Granted, they can sometimes be a pain, but most of the time, they are just great. They really can show appreciation even if people assume they can't!
