Keys to the Repository by Melissa De La Cruz

This small little book is another book really meant to fill in the blanks for fans of the Blue Bloods series. With some short stories interspersed with essays about characters and the history of the fallen angel-turned-vampires that make up the series, readers will walk away with a better understanding of the series as well as getting a few sneak peaks into what might be coming up with this series and another spinoff series designed to follow one of the characters as she goes hunting Hellhounds.

The book is presented in an interesting format, with all of the little essays being presented as if they were official historical documents being held at the Repository, a super-library managed to hold all the official information about the Blue Bloods.

While much of the information will be familiar to readers, some of it is presented from a different perspective or with new details that will really set the stage for the future of the series.

This was a quick and easy read. In some ways it was a refresher because it has been some time since I have read any of the books in the series. It was also interesting to get more details about the characters in the series, particularly who they were in their past lives or even their original identities as angels. This is a must read for fans of the series, but I am not sure that this would be the best way to get introduced to the series. Some of the regular novels would be better options, I think.
