
Since its inception, the Justice League of America has always been the premier team of superheroes for DC Comics. Most of you probably recognize at least some of the faces on this cover. Well, it is going to take the united forces of all of them if they are going to get out of this one alive.
The trouble starts as many of the world's supervillains start having the same nightmare. A terrible crisis is sweeping the planet, destroying everything and everyone. Despite the best efforts of the Justice League, no one seems to be able to survive. This includes the heroes themselves. By the time the planet is totally destroyed, Superman is the only one left.
This is enough to convince the lot of them to use there talents for the good of the planet. They start to heal the wonded and the sick. They find ways to feed the hungry. They even question why the traditional superheroes have not done this before. It leads many to being doubting the Justice League.
This volume sets up the whole storyline of the trilogy. The art work is truly amazing. Throughout the whole book, the detail is just as thorough as you see in this book cover. The artwork itself makes the whole thing worth lookng at. At the same time, the story delves into the deepest fears and strength of will of the characters, both heroes and villains.
