For many years, I have had a great outlet for fun and escapism. I know that many of you have known that I am a major trekkie. While in college, a friend of mine introduced me to PBeM (or Play by e-Mail) gaming. Basically, it is online role-playing where the player group write tales in response to plotlines designed by a gamemaster. Star Trek was obviously something that would appeal to me.

One of the games I have been involved with has quite a history, and it seems to be surviving even as the Internet is allowing gaming to have a much more visual area with MMPORPGs like World of Warcraft.

Well, one of the things I have become responsible before is designing and maintaining a webpage that went along with the game. We actually lost our webhosting location so I had to find a new one. It took a while, but I was able to find adequate space. Finding us a new home has inspired me to get back into redesigning the site with a new look.

I actually tried to do this about a year ago, but the death of my last laptop meant the disappearance of the files. I know ... I should have known better, and I have gotten back into the routine of backing up my files. That will hopefully prevent a similar thing from happening again.

Anyway, I have come up with the new template, and I am in the process of sliding the content of the old website into it. If you are interested in checking it out, feel free to stop into the new site for Spacedock. That front page is a good example of the new look. If you click on the links on the page, it will bring you to some of the older pages, which will give you an example of the old look. Feel free to let me know how you feel about either or bothlooks.

This attempt at creativity has really gotten me thinking about looking into doing a website for myself. I used to have one a number of years ago, but it has faded away into nothing. I think I will have to try doing it again.
