On my lunch hour, I got to go and do a doctor's visit today. It was to visit my gastro-enterologist. He is the guy who is treating me for my fatty liver disease. As part of my visit, I was going to get the results from my recent sonogram.
Overall, it was good news. He started by reviewing some recent bloodwork. My fatty liver was caused by my bad diet, which lead to my former obesity, and my high cholesterol. My exercize has been doing wonders with my cholesterol. I am limited with my medications because of troubles I have with most of them.
My family struggles with getting the HDL numbers up. It is just something in the genes. Before I started my treatment, it tended to be in the high teens and lower 20s. Well, for the first time, I was actually in the low 50s, which is great. My LDL (the lousy kind) was pretty good, too. He was really thrilled.
As for the sonogram, he was really happy. I am still exhibiting some fat deposits on the liver, but things are looking much better. He said that he always looks forward to my visits because it is usually good news, and I actually listen to his orders.
I am just thrilled.
