Well, maybe the headline is a bit of an exaggeration. It is not official, but it will be on Monday. In RI, you can only file declaration papers on next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. You are probably asking why. Well, I have no idea.

In any case, the paperwork is completed and waiting to be turned in. I will drop the stuff off on my way to work on Monday. It was actually pretty basic paperwork. For some reason, I figured it would be more difficult. It took me about 5 minutes. The part that took the longest was getting the witnesses.

So, wish me luck in November. The good news is that I feel like I win either way. Our charter has rules that mean I would have to step down from all of my boards and committees in town if I am elected. If I lose, I will still get to serve the community in the same way that I have been. So, it is sort of a win-win.

The big part will be deciding how much to spend on the election.
