You are so not a wannabe. You are an original. If you doubt that, just take your clothes off again (okay only joking about that). Acceptance of self, love of self and knowledge of self is the basis of all happiness. Perfection is not attainable. Being the best you can be, is the greater goal. I fail the greater goal all the time. I know perfect is not for me, and every day I am not the best I can be, but the essential difference is that I am still moving in the right direction. The "best" me is tolerant, patient, kind and loving, a seeker of knowledge, light and a greater connection with the universe. Me is cranky, selfish and obnoxious most days. But I won't give up on the others. The gene pool only had so much depth in the intelligence end, and I scooped up what I could, but for the most part I am happy to leave the rocket science to others. Which is strange since I am an engineer. I'm babbling here, but I think you get the point. We may never move the universe in ways that will be noticed after our passing, but in the time we are here, we create families, tribes and bonds that will outlive us regardless of IQ.

Jesus wants me to smoke the best non blended cigarettes I can get, so far he has found a way for me to always have them. He doesn't want me to quit, in fact, he told me he would like me to smoke more if I wanted to. Jesus also told me that socialized medicine was wrong so I think Jesus is on crack. Even if we don't agree on everything, I know Jesus wants me to smoke, he told me so.

Wow that's amazing. We are also suffering the same fate, worst snowfall in forty years. Very painful for animals, peoples, trees and cars - none of which are coping very well.

Ah, Spring I await thy bashful sun!

Oh - sounds like someone is a cranky bear. Cabin Fever! I so hear you, I live in an apartment building with a smelly heaping dumpster of garbage because no one can get to it - it still has all the Christmas garbage in it. WTF?? Our roads are still barely passable and I almost fell on my fat ass trying to walk the dog for about 10 feet up the icy sidewalk. I am so TIRED of snow, I moved here from the east to get away from the endless winter!!!

Yeah I am thinking maybe April for the weather to get better, but hey, I'm an optimist.

lots of sick puppies out there, and some times online people are screwing with your head. I am an eternal optimist and believe that most people are good and so far, most people have proved to be just that... but once in a while you run into someone who can get very close to you via their words, sharing their "life" etc via the internet when in reality they are very deceptive people (for reasons I cannot comprehend). It's not like you meet most on line people so there are some very strong visual clues missing in the relationship, and it's not like you have any other verification of their life except what they tell you.

So be careful, protect your heart and your pocketbook!

anything by Celine Dionne, or any other white chick trying to sing like a black chick or vice versa is pretty appalling.

Oh you have joined my "Things that piss you off" club! You are way too young to be so wise (and yet so cynical). Crank up the rocker on one thing with you though.... pet food! North Americans are so brainwashed by bullshit that they feed their animals processed prepackaged food, which is probably the most unhealthy diet you could give a dog or cat. Pet food makers use diseased animals (including dogs and cats from kill shelters) in the making of pet food - how disgusting is that? Simple rule for feeding your pets - if you wouldn't eat it, why should they?? Some argue that the best diet for pets is a raw food diet, which if they were living in the wild is what they would eat. Let's face it, my chihuahua is about 25,000 years or more removed from the wild, if indeed it's gene pool even goes that deep.

And as for the Viagra ads, my favourite line is "if you get an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, call your physician) Like hell - call me! It would be a dream come true.

Carbiner (sp??) are the clips you use when you are rock climbing, easy to snap on a rope, strong and won't slip off. They use them on a lot of stuff lately, I see teenagers using them on keychains to clip stuff on. Maybe its carabiners, I have to check....
Comment on Christmas Bills ... - Dec 29, 2008 6:19 AM ()
Spent a hot $10 on Christmas this year! it was challenging and fun! Gifts were hilarious, here's what I bought for $10...

- coffee mug with snowflakes on it (red cup/white snowflakes)
- package of handwarmers (slip them in your mittens)
- a little carving of Buddha and a little carving of an elephant
- a thingie that goes on the cars sun visor and holds 10 CD's
- a little book for phone numbers (has that hilarious rabbit on it that says "like I'll ever call you"
- 3 pens with carbiner clips
- 3 polished stones with "faith/hope/believe" written on them
- enough wool to knit a scarf

Not bad for that amount, okay not counting the baking stuff I bought to make short bread, home made bread, fudge, biscotti, etc.

It was the best Christmas ever and I don't owe a dime!

Yanni - you need to move to Canada man! We have a chronic shortage of teachers and there is no way in hell you pay ANYTHING for your Health Care. I had a chronic illness and missed 7 years from the workforce and had the best medical care in the world and it didn't cost me a dime nor did I lose my home or anything else. I know people say our taxes are higher here, but you know what - I don't care! It's brilliant that you don't have to worry if you, your spouse or your child are sick - it leaves you free to get on with getting healthy. Universal medical care for citizens should be free. I hope things are going to go better for you in this coming year.

Yanni - you offer what many cannot. Experience and wisdom. I am also over 50 (actually born in 52) and right now looking for work. My take on this, is yes I may only work for you for another 5 or 10 years, but guess what? I bring a wealth of experience to this table and it will be the best 5 or 10 years your company every has if it hires me.

I am using this time to examine my life and whether or not this is truly the time to change career paths and crank up my passion for work once again.
