That tree next to the shed really was too large, and it looks good with it gone. Tree work is expensive, but they have to buy all that equipment, and it really is good to get it done right and hauled off. I'd love to have one of those big chipper/shredders.
Studies have proven that people are more likely to do favors for attractive people, both at work and socially, so looks do help people get ahead in our world. But, as you say, it's important to look beyond appearance.
Update: the burgers were pretty good in a mushy sort of way, kind of like meatloaf because we didn't have bread with them, just big patties on our plate. I didn't crush the crackers very fine, so they added an element of texture and flavor.
It sounds like so much fun, working towards those goals. I think you should major in as technical a science subject as you can stand, and you could end up teaching, but imagine the other career paths an engineering or marine biology degree would open up.
Wonderful post. You've captured the essential message that for all the reasons why not, it doesn't take many of the reasons why to make the case for motherhood.
This is heartbreaking, but it sounds like you made a good choice. Is his daughter by any chance acting out to keep you two from getting married? Hugs to you.
Harold and Maude is one my all-time favorite movies, as much for the wonderful Cat Stevens music as anything. I have never forgotten what she said about the ring he gave her after she threw it into the water: 'I'll always know where it is.'
Peach season is soon upon us.
I didn't realize that a lot of the usual military chores like providing base security and cooking at the army bases is contracted out to companies like Halliburton. I guess they save the enlisted people for war zones, but there are also a lot of private contractor employees working overseas. It's like a farmer having a whole bunch of children who could do the farming and help with the yard work, but he hires outsiders to do the yard work and cooking, not very economical.
These recipes are from El Molino mills, by the way.
I love reading spy novels, but I hope I never meet any of them in person because I don't like sneaky people.
The flowers that do well down there are so different from ours. That's what makes it so much fun to see pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of pre-testing with 5 people.
Did things get a little dull over at the blog for money site so you decided to throw us a crumb? Welcome back, it's always good to hear from you.
