I might do more baking now that I have someone to bake for. I'm determined not to buy a bunch of food while I'm here, and forgot to bring brown sugar, so will see if I can get by without it.

I am so sorry, and totally understand your grief. Will you be able to ask your folks to save some of your favorite things from the house before it sells?

According to the car guys, the type of food you give a mechanic or other professional to say thanks depends on the severity of the problem. For normal stuff: brakes, air conditioning, etc. banana bread or carrot cake is the thing. Lasagna is too personal at that level, save that for an engine replacement.

Thanks! I've bookmarked this page, because sometimes I run out of things to look at. Isn't that an odd thing to say? With the zillions of things on the Internet? Sometimes I just can't think of something I want to find out about. Then, something will come up around the house, like I need solar panels to run my security lights, and that keeps me going for awhile, but that doesn't keep me apprised of what's happening in the world.

I'm always buying chuck roast, so am going to make this soon!

It's like when someone says "I've forgiven what they've done, but I'll never forget it." The only reason you might be able to trust them going forward is if you knew they learned a lesson from it, and would never do that again. But you'd always keep a watchful eye for a repeat, so I think the answer is 'no, you can't get it back exactly like it was.'

Do you have the expression there: 'You have to hold your mouth right?' It means the steps you have to take are so intricate and tricky and illogical, how you arrange your face has something to do with success.

That's cuter than a button, and I sent it to my relatives. Thanks!

Quesadillas. They are one of my favorite dining out orders, but I've never had them with fries. It all looks good.

Were there men on that trip? My husband would say 'now, if there is anywhere you see that you want to stop, just say so' but he didn't really mean it, and we wouldn't stop. He claims it's because I made him stop in the middle of nowhere in the OK panhandle to move a turtle off the highway; that did it for him.

How wonderful! I'm a believer in the cat telling you what its name is. That's how we ended up with the name Eloise. I have a book by an English actress who had many, many cats over the years, and reading about Tweeky, and Socket, and Spillers, and Micetto, and Kittone and Mr. Fing, I can't help but regret that I didn't come up with a better name. However, this particular cat does look like an Eloise.

What a great announcement, and I love the pen name.
