Thank you. I've been waiting to read a review of this movie. I normally can't stand Angelina Jolie but the plot seemed good enough for me to try out.
The health care issue, for me, has always been baffling but I guess it's because I've never known any system other than the Canadian one and am not that familiar with American politics.
I really need to stop blushing on your blog.
This is sort of embarrassing....
I can't take the last of something from a shelf or a cooler or freezer. *Especially* not a cooler or freezer. And I can never, ever take the first thing, closest to me. I always have to reach three back, especially with cold things. I will have a panic attack if I have to take the first item or the last item on the shelf. The OCD affects me in other ways, too but I'll spare you the weird details.
Wonderful, wonderful post.I was just talking to my oldest daughter today about all of the celebrations that happen this time of year and how we strive, as a family, to respect and honour every faith and culture. Which is why I say, "Happy Holidays!"...there are so many of them happening in December and that alone is a reason to celebrate.
Beautiful Christmas cactus! It made me think of my Mom.
Jack Nicholson is a handsome man. So are you.
The subconscious is a strange thing. I have vivid dreams like that from time to time and they stick with me throughout the day.
I'm glad that you had a nice time with your family and without those that would have made it less than nice.
This whole post made me think of Julian. A lot of what you described can be characteristics of Asperger's Syndrome.
It's actually not that uncommon for someone with obsessive compulsive tendencies to be, well, obsessive about some areas and very lax in others.
But you didn't ask about Julian, did you?
I'm very, very anal retentive about certain things. Drives people nuts. And other people drive me nuts because they don't wash dishes properly, put things in the right spot, don't fold laundry the way I do, etc.
I also have mild obsessive compulsive disorder. Especially in the grocery store.
Being finished all of the Christmas to-do stuff is one of the best feelings. So glad you're enjoying all of it.
I'm sorry, Randy. I have the giggles. This: "I was putting on the act of being a good family man, upstanding in the community, teacherman, and all that crap." made me think of every show about serial killers I've ever seen. (I'm a big fan of Dexter).
Ahem. So anyway, uh, good for you! Sounds lovely.
You'd be surprised at how many men like smelling good. No, really. It's shocking. Anyway, have you ever thought about getting some of that Axe stuff? You know...the spray deodarant and such. Or what about a favourite show on DVD?
I asked a man. He said, and I quote, "A calendar with half naked women on it."
I tried for you, I really did.
What a great post.Seems as though you and I came to the same conclusions this year about Christmas. I'm so glad to see you smiling.
Goodness gracious! There isn't much that I can say that hasn't already been covered in the comments.
But I have to admit that the look on your cat's face made me giggle.
I think my mom missed the memo. She doesn't bake. Anything.
So glad you had some one-on-three time...sounds lovely.
Oh my goodness!I hope you manage to get through it all.
Yes, he *is* a hottie!I didn't like this movie one bit but that was because of the kid with autism and the dad, too. I was all ready for a romantic movie to make me cry...
