I love the New Year holiday but I was so sleepy last night that I didn't add champagne to the mix. We just watched the ball drop and drank in the look of Times Square, and I dreamed of having lived in New York and how exciting the whole atmosphere of the city is, and then I went to sleep.
There is a hotel just north of the island that is in the middle of Times Square. It is the Renaissance. It has a restaurant with windows that look down on the Square where 7th Avenue and Broadway cross. My dream had been to stay there on New Year's Eve and have dinner in that restaurant and spend the night. But it is now booked years in advance and is so pricey that we can't afford it. Boo hoo.
I've often thought there should be a similar holiday for Superbowl Monday.

no plop plop fizz fizz for me. rang in the new year with a bottle of gatorade! Had to keep dakota awake to watch the ball drop.
I think it is more so people can recover from the night before....
