As I have been working in a frenzy on small studies that are mostly 8" x 10" for the upcoming June 20 outdoor art festival, I needed a creative break. I also did not want to interrupt my ongoing painting habit.

So I did what I do when I feel my brush hand needs some therapy - I did another Vincent Van Gogh "knock-off."

It is a pleasant (but difficult) experience to do a near copy of one of Vincent's paintings. I begin to feel what went through his head and body when I do these. I get a larger appreciation for his talent and particularly his ability to observe and interpret.
