A Story (True) for a Hungry Morning ...

My ex and I would have backyard get-together feasts. One time we challenged four other couples to a pizza contest.

Rules were:

1. Bake your own pizza at home.

2. Bring it to our place and we would reheat it in the giant oven.

3. I would supply beer and wine and we would all gather at the picnic tables and eat.

Afterward we would decide on which pizza was best and which was most forgettable.

That evening I made this:

1 Boboli Thin Crust.
10 soft-shell crabs, boiled first and arranged on the crust.
Other ingredients:
Chopped onion
Mushrooms from those little glass jars.
Chopped black olives
Pizza sauce (I canned my own)
Olive oil
Grated cheeses and Mozzarella
Italian parsley and oregano

My pizza was voted both the BEST and the most forgettable! Go figure.

BTW: None of the guests had ever eaten soft-shell crab, so that may have been why. The little legs turn some people off, much like calamari. You can only get soft-shell crab in a short season. Yum!

There is just waaaaay tooooo much talk about food on mybloggers. That recipe sounds soooo great, but the ingredients are at least an hour away in Klamath Falls and then an hour home to put it together. I bet they don't even have soft shell crabs in KFalls. Fact, I'm pretty sure they haven't even heard of them. Ohhhhhh Jon..... more.....

That is great. We do a similar one in the fall.
They are to make pesto.Everyone gets a chance at this.
I supplied the linguine,salad etc.
Have not done this for some time.
Keep saying every year will do it again.
We will see.
