I saw the quartet back in 1961 at a venue in Munich, Germany. I already owned the TAKE FIVE album then (and it is somewhere in a crate full of 33 1/3 vinyls) and have a few of the CDs always handy. Paul Desmond was the best sax ever, and I loved his spontaneous quotations. I think Joe Morello was the best drummer they ever had.
I aced that essay. I still have all of my school essays, etc., in a big box along with what look like doughnut sprinkles. I am still trying to remember how that happened.
