What do you think about vertical paintings?
The show yesterday in Columbus was tragic. I only sold two small studies and had to discount them both. It paid for gasoline and lunch for Laura and me. LOL
I am making some changes. First, will keep painting my usual stuff, but in smaller sizes. I am going to do this:
1. So many people say "But all my wall space is taken-up."
2. I think that is a crap excuse, and when I look in their eyes they look away, a sure sign that it is a lie.
3. So, if they see a small vertical painting, let's say, 5 inches wide by 16 to 18 inches high, and framed by my superb craftsman friend, Tom Wolfel, in quarter-sawn white oak, they can't use the same lame excuse.
Therefore, I am embarking on a size a slight style change.
This doesn't mean the paintings will be cheaper. Tom gets 115 to 130.00 for a small 8x10 frame. I will have to double that at least. So my small paintings will be priced from 250.00 up.
And I can do many more of them than the larger canvases.
I got up so depressed this morning, staring at a Christmas season with no idea how I am going to pay all these medical post-Medicare co-pays, that I had a double shot of B&B brandy for breakfast.
LOL
PS: The cats won't leave me alone. They missed me Saturday. I left the house at 6:00am and didn't get home until 11:55pm.
