OK, wow. I'm behind. Very behind.
My Chinese is improving! LOL I can say about twenty words or so. Most people laugh when I try to speak. Not sure what that really means.
We had a wonderful church service where Jennifer used to work. Then there was food afterward. Below are a few pictures of the spread.

We also had a pew jumper. Quite an afternoon I tell ya.

That evening we went to restaurant that served the most delicious breaded jumbo shrimp dipped in mayonnaise and sprinkled with cake sprinkles and pineapple chunks. It sounds disgusting. It was delicious. I was skeptical at first, but one bite disproved any unfounded fears. There was some fried squid and some cabbage and sweet and sour pork, but the shrimp was the prize winner.

The next morning we took the train to Taichung and sorted through some of Jennifer's things trying to decide what was worthy of the trip home and what could be thrown or given away. We ended with two plastic tubs of books and one accordion. There...that's done! We only have to go back by the church and pick the stuff up. She has a beautiful painting of some Japanese ships. I took the painting out of the frame and rolled it up and put it in some kind of mailing tube. I took the frame apart with minimal damage (It was worth more than the painting.) and prepared it for transport as well. Yes, I'm just that good! LOL We then went to a nice mall and ate more hot pot and used the internet at Starbucks.

My computer cord got left behind at the church so I took a taxi (all by myself) back to the church and then back to Starbucks. Jennifer was starting to worry that she had send me into a death trap. I told her not to worry, my broken Chinese and sign language were more than enough to get me there and back. Yes, I'm just that good! LOL From there, we walked to the language school where Jennifer also worked and settled into our apartment there. We then went out for (you'll never guess) more hot pot with a couple of her friends. I told her to just speak Chinese with them so that they could enjoy the conversation without worrying about explaining everything to me. They took me up on that for the most part. Yes, I'm just that nice. LOL I really didn't even have to go, but Jennifer wanted me to. Probably wanted to show me off! jk

Today, we visited a market place and found these interesting items.

Jennifer's friends here have been so kind and gracious. I feel a tremendous debt of gratitude toward them for their kindness and generous hospitality. Currently, I'm entrenched at Starbucks while Jennifer shops around the mall. We're waiting to meet one of her friends here for lunch. I told you vacation was all about the food. Cheerio!
