Whoever drew the analogy between OWS and the Tea Party was either completely ignorant of the facts or desperately hoping everyone else was.
After having watched a video clip of a mob chanting "Shut down Burger King" and harassing customers, the only logical response is to ask, "What on earth do these spoiled morons expect to accomplish with all this gang-like behavior?"
After reading about murders and rapes, public defecation and generally unsanitary conditions, and gross defacement of coffee and hot dog vendors' carts, I can only scratch my head in amazement and ask, "Exactly HOW do these people even remotely resemble the Tea Party?"
If OWS does indeed want to change policy and even, as some have stated, undo capitalism, they should go vote, organize a political movement that reflects their values and play by the rules. Vandalism, occupation of public areas and mind-numbing chants are the work of terrorists. And last time I checked, terrorism doesn't work.
I can understand OWS' frustration concerning apparent inequities in the tax system and government policies that favor the rich and privileged. However, the approach that OWS has taken will do nothing to further their cause, whatever that may be. Their message has been confused and disorganized from the onset. And just like in a mob, crowd psychology leads the participants to violate the lines of decency and respect, further discrediting any legitimacy the movement may have had.
This is a far cry from some random person allegedly spitting in a politician's face and a few misspelled signs. I thought the following cartoon summed it up nicely.

we need some equity here in America. The media overhypes. I just came back
from a place where the whole countries were embroiled in riots and they
really were not. They just took a few incidents and made them seem that way.
