There is a lovely girl in our congregation of about sixteen years. She is noble and graceful and steady in every way. However, there is a charming and handsome young man who is as wishy-washy as they come trying to win her affection. He is a powder keg of anger and jealousy and has loved and left more girls than I care to count.
So, today, for the first time in my life, I told a mother that she needed to be very careful about letting her daughter pursue this most unhealthy relationship. It appears that mother had already entertained doubts and she even mentioned that she wanted to ask me what I thought. We discussed the situation a little further and left it at that. I'm hoping that this youngster sees the light and realizes what a load of fool's gold this chap is and runs for her life in the other direction.
