Short update on the cell phone. I'm stuck with it. It turns out she charged me about what it is worth wholesale. I offered to give the lady the equivalent of 45 dollars for damages and she could sell the phone cheap enough to get her money back out of it. Nothing doing. So, I, knowing nothing about how to sell something in this twisted, conniving, south-of-the-border economy, have to sell this phone and at least recoup 75% of my 3,100 pesos. Keeping that in mind, I pulled one even more foolish stunt. I took it to a total stranger to sell in his store. He'll make 300 pesos on it, if it sells.  He thinks it will. I just handed over 250 dollars worth of cellular equipment to a total unknown. I have his business card, at least.
On to better news. I RECEIVED MY PACKAGE TODAY FROM THE FRIEND I'VE NEVER MET!!!!!!!! I was so excited. (Am I allowed to use more exclamation points?) Thank you, so much. You know who you are. It was very early and VERY nice. We will cherish them and use them often.
Fortunately for everyone around me, I saw the package AFTER I delivered the 3,100 pesos and that totally brightened my day!
My attitude needs adjusting. For several reasons, I'm a bit cranky:

• #1 Thirty-one hundred pesos just signaled the degradation of a friendship to an acquaintance.


• #2 Thirty-one hundred pesos is money I DID NOT want to spend right now.


• #3 (This one has nothing to do with money, *snicker*.) I have to set some things in order in the congregation before they get out of hand and hurt the church as a whole.


• #4 I'm hungry.

The good news is, my dear wife and I taking a handful of youths to the state of Sinaloa to a convention and we are very excited about it. We might even find time to go to the beach!
