Winter has well and truly set in here -4 degrees today which is unusually cold still it could be worse i suppose.
I have managed to get 99% of my Christmas present shopping done and wrapped with the exception of Adrian's presents of course and now i have been struck down with the dreaded flu argghhh i feel terrable and worst of all i have to go and visit my grandad this weekend while my gran is in hospital, we have had some mega dramas in the last 2 weeks some worthy of being broadcast on the BBC my gran went to bed one night and got up the next morning with triple vision in one eye and it wasnt untill a week later when her doctor insisted she go see the consultant at the hospital that we found out she has started having mini strokes or TIA for those of you with a medical background so since she has been in hospital grandad has been having a merry time eating fried food and staying up late which he is not supposed to do since he had 3 heartattacks a few years ago so im going to there house this weekend to make sure all the washing and ironing, Christmas decorations and anything else that needs doing is done before she gets home. my mother has decided to make an appearance and "lend a hand" which means "i had nothing better to do so rather than sit at home alone i thought i would come an annoy the hell out of you" great whoopeee for me, then to top it all off i get the dreaded flu not the pork kind but the regular boring man flu without all the amature dramatics of actual man flu lol. i have been trying to get on top of my knitting pile for the last few days but just dont feel like doing anything so im going to take it on the train with me tomorrow and hopefully have some more done by the time i get home. Adrian's mother is being a pain in the arse at the moment but im not going into that tonight i got a headache as it is without going into the finer details of how she has annoyed me this week. i have now finished university for good and weather or not i ever return to nursing or not is questionable it has become a job of paper work rather one where you actually have to care for the patient and thats not the nursing i set out to do when i began all those many years ago when nurses actually changed beds and cleaned bedpans now all they seem to want to do is apply lipstick and twiddle there hair when they see nice looking doctors oh well i suppose im moaning now and it is getting pretty late i will probably have some more to blog about after my weekend of hell with my mother i wish i could have choosen my own mother i would have choosen one like nittineedles or rosmary cloonely oh well into the breach we go have a great weekend everyone and keep warm and healthy oh before i go im going to be posting some recipes soon i have finally started typing up our family recipes and im going to start sharing them with everyone on here and i hope you enjoy them as much as i have have fun xxxxxxx
