HEY!!!!! I'M a man, and I know how to buy corn!!!! In season, I buy about 3 dozen a week!!! (Mary Ellen LOVES corn on the cob!) And I NEVER come home with a bad ear! Part of the secret is NOT to buy it from a grocery store where the ears could have been picked a week ago. I buy MY corn from a local farm stand where the stuff is picked fresh every day.
AAAANNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDD, if you perhaps explained yourself better to R, maybe he wouldn't have made that mistake!!!! (He WAS doing you a favor, wasn't he? WHO wanted the corn???) How can people expect somebody else to do a good job at something if they aren't taught how to do it? Could you change the oil in my car without first being given instructions???!!! WELL? COULD YOU??!!! . . .
As Larry, Daryl and Daryl once said, "Women! Can't live 'em; can't stuff 'em in a sack!"

Your second paragraph here, I think, really sums it up. To me, the spiritual search is ongoing and never-ending. I also believe that, as Cat Stevens sang, before he went bananas, "The answer lies within." The exploration of the inner self through Transcendental Meditation and the reverence of nature seem to work the best for me when seeking spiritual answers. That's where I find God.
As I grow and change, so my quest for God and my definition of him/her/it changes.
Wicca is a wonderful and much maligned "pagan" religion, if you ask me. It is not so much about casting spells (Boil, boil, toil and trouble!) as it is about working in harmony with Nature.
The romantic English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge believed in Nature as God. In fact, he considered starting up a new society, call a Pantocracy, based on the belief in the ancient god of nature, Pan. (Ever hear of a Pan Flute? That's where the name comes from. Pan played a flute.)
Excellent post, Mel! Never give up the search!

Very interesting comparing and contrasting here. I try REALLY HARD to have unconditional faith the way that my wife and you do, I really do! Maybe I should stop trying so hard.
I pray for such faith every day.
I have no problem believing in God. My problem comes from the trappings that Man has put on religion.

Nothing wrong with Dark. Some of the best literature of all time fits into that category!n(Dracula, Frankenstein, even The Lord of the Rings!)

Can't stand these things...and that sentiment has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I SUCK at them!

I'd give my eye teeth, which I still have, by the way, for a grandson! I've got two grandchildren (wonderful little grand daughters!) and a third, as of yet undetermined entity, on the way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but, penis it or not, I'll love him/her just the same!
CONGRATS!!!!!

As a life-long Red Sox fan, I always considered Bobby Murcer to be the loyal and much respected opposition. A class act all around. Baseball needs more people like him today!

Why do you feel bad that you are not attracted to him? I admire you for your honesty with him! He would feel much worse if you led him on, got his expectations up, and then pulled the rug out from under him later on! You should respect yourself for handling the situation correctly.
Now, it's his choice to hang with you or not.

Poor fella!!!! Dixie did the same thing the other morning. Then, fifteen minutes later when I went out to feed the horses, she was running circles around me as if nothing had happened. Hope the same is true for Kraymer!

Can you believe that I remember this cartoon from my childhood! These were great, weren't they? Wonderful animation and nobody gets killed or maimed like in the cartoons the kids watch today. Just good fun and lots of laughs.
Thanks Kevin!
By the way, welcome to MyBloggers!

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I like the answer to What makes you mad. Your answer, "idiotic people' really wouldn't narrow down the field with the crowd I hang with!
