I had such a hard letting go of my kids when they became more independent! Now, they've given me the miracle and joy of grandchildren!

Oh Waterloo! It was one of the saddest days of my life seven years ago! I was at work when it happened. All I wanted to do was to get home and hug my wife and gather close everyone and everything that dear to me!
I glad that you were spared that anxiety and horror because of the date of your birth!
You are such a sweet thing, and I hope your puppyhood is filled nothing but laughter and joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a GREAT post! Heart-warming and SO TRUE! Dixie loves me unconditionally, no matter how I neglect her. She's always greets me when I come home at the end of the day as if I were a long-lost friend. Come to think of it, every dog I've ever owned did that. We can sure learn a lot from those incredibly loving creatures! "Oh God, Please make me the kind of man that my dog thinks I am!"

Life is just perception, isn't it? And we all have different receptors. Have you ever wondered about even stupid things like, is the color that I perceive red the same red as you see, or do you see red as my green, but having labeled it red, it's red to you? (I don't know...the question makes sense to me!)
I too have often wondered if the only goal of a living being is multiply. What's the sense of it?
By the way, I agree with the Dalai Lama.

I totally understand how life's events can knock the wind out of your sails! Four weeks ago, I got bucked off my horse, was knocked unconscious, bit off a piece of my tongue, and screwed up my fifty-five year old back REALLY GOOD! (Twelve chiropractor visits later, I'm still in pain.)
However, it was a beautiful, crisp morning today, and there were deer and turkeys in my pasture mingling with my horses. The mist was at tree-tip level, and the orange sun was rising up over the eastern ridge of the world like a huge cinnamon dot. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stay upset.

I found this movie disturbing, to say the least. A snapshot of the underbelly of our culture. Graphic violence that, at one point turned my stomach.
The acting is superb, which goes without saying if Tommy Lee Jones is in the flick.
The ending left me dumbfounded. I literally stared at the screen and said, "Huh?"
Then, I got up, turned off the set, toddled up the stairs to bed, and had nightmares all freaking night long!

I don't think I'll EVER understand the workings of the female mind! If you don't want to be married, then why are you wondering why he hasn't proposed? AAAANNNDDD, in this day and age, if you want to get married, who don't YOU do the proposing? But then, you don't WANT to be married, so this is all a moot point anyway!!! Sometimes you make my head hurt.

Thanks for posting this, Holly! I'd be REALLY broken up if I found out that I was inadvertently poisoning my dog, cats or horses!
