In 1908 on this day, the original version of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," with music by Albert Von Tilzer and lyrics by Jack Norworth, was copyrighted by Von Tilzer's York Music Co. Now over a 100 years later it has become a thread in the fabric of America.
Americana is a lazy Saturday afternoon at the ball park with the wife and kids watching the home town boys, eating hot dogs, and if she will let you, drinking a 4 dollar beer.
Now I am not talking about those over paid, steroid laden jack asses in the majors.
Here in Nashville we have a triple A team called “The Nashville Sounds”.
This baseball is about watching future stars while they still love the game.
Its Family Nights with fireworks and free hair cuts.
