How can anyone leave this poor puppy in an apt.without any food.Unheard of.
This breaks my heart and so glad that he or she was able to get out and not get injured as badly .
It is amazing that he is alive.
Will have to make a donation to the animal hospital there.
Very sad to hear about this.

Starving Dog Jumps Out 3rd-Story Window
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. -- Police and animal control officers are looking for the people who abandoned two dogs, including a puppy, in a New Bedford apartment for at least two months.
One of the dogs, a starving and emaciated 1-year-old female, jumped from a third-story window on Friday in a desperate search for food, breaking her hip and hind leg, according New Bedford Animal Control Officer Emmanuel Maciel.

New Bedford Animal Control also found a weak, malnourished 4-month-old puppy inside the filthy, flea-infested apartment.
The property manager said the tenant left the residence two months ago, but did not have the tenant’s name or contact information.
“This constitutes felony cruelty against an innocent animal,†said Lt. Alan Borgal, director of the Center for Animal Protection at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. “We are counting on the public to step forward with information to help bring the person or persons responsible to justice.â€
Both dogs are receiving emergency care at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay.
Surgeons repaired the female's broken hip and hind leg, but she will require ongoing monitoring in addition to a special feeding program to address the effects of malnutrition.
The 4-month-old puppy is now eating and her electrolyte levels are sound, according to the Animal Rescue League. Staff at the hospital said she is active and alert, but will require further hospitalization for the time being.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact New Bedford Animal Control Officer Emmanuel Maciel at 508-991- 6366.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston is asking for the public’s help to offset the costs associated with the dogs’ care and rehabilitation. People can make a donation by calling 617- 426-9170, extension 615 or by visiting https://www.arlboston.org/donate.
