That is How We Celebrate.the Italians.

You may have seen this before. But this is Christmas and one never get tired of this.
The most things that I missed is Christmas Eve with the family.
The Italians as most of you know this is the highlight of the season.
We gather around and many good times with our siblings.
Dinner is as some of you know we start of with soup, fish, meat and pasta with all of the fixing.Talking about food.Whew!great.
After we filled our tummy and having great desserts along with plenty of wine savor. Not to mentioned the desserts.
After a fun filled dinner we sit around and just visiting our relatives or siblings and getting caught up on the news.
At the stroke of midnight as most of us at the Midnight Mass.
Then the midnight mass was the highlight of our season.
With the glorious of Christmas songs sung by the choir.
The one that touch me the most as all you know this.
Ave Maria.I welled up when I hear this.
Now that most of my siblings are gone and just one left.
This is the saddest time of the year for me.
I missed this and then again knowing that all good things come to an end.
Now that I am much older and do not attend the church services any more .
Today service not the same as my time.Yes,my time.
I loved seeing all of our Italian friends at the service and missed all of them.I will be thinking of them on the eve that is the highlight of Christmas for us.
The Italians knows how to celebrate Christmas.
Am I bragging?why not we are Italians and that it the way that it was.
We are love fun people.Yea we talked a lot with the hands but that is the way that we express ourself.
Okay, enough of this jib jab and hope all of you have a very, very Merry Christmas.Mike and I along with Buffy wished you the best.
We do not exchanged gifts, the biggest gift is that we have each other and we love each other. That is the best gift for me.
Good night and I will return.
Oh!can wait to see the new Tom Cruise movie, they say that this is the best of all.Good night. From our house to yours. We love you.
Take care and Be safe.No drinking or driving and cell phone or texting just enjoy your time with family.

He will be at your house soon.

You look great! So, Santa came by your house early!? Yes, my oldest son's family was Italian and the get-to-togethers were wonderful!

While memories of "the good old days" are always present, I try not to dwell on them. I like to look to the present and future. We can't bring back the past. Enjoy your times with Mike (and Santa!).

l do dwell on them. These are happy dwell and one must not forget.I am always looking for the future and do not like what I see.I loved my earlier life and will continued to dwell.
What is there to dwell in the future

So very long since I had a family Christmas ... Ed and I have invited a couple, dear friends, for a Jewish Christmas dinner. I am roasting lamb -- it's a Greek thing. It will be nice.

forgot to mentioned a few things there. After the mass.We go back to the house and have desserts or whatever they want and then get to opened up presents.
Then the younger children will be coming down the stairs and joined us.
A very but wonderful tiring day.

Warmest wishes to all of you there, Fredo. I see that you might get some snow in the next couple of days, should be very pretty.
comment by kitchentales on Dec 21, 2011 5:31 PM ()
yes, maybe a dusting and up to 3 inches or so I guess. We will see. They are not sure what is going on.Tomorrow supposed to be messy with the rain and freezing this I hate.Rather have the snow as least you get better traction in driving.Merry Christmas..From the Boys at the School house.
