A very interesting map.

It 'goes with' the previous post - the map was too large to go with the settings I had on my word document and it ended up messing the whole thing up, so I had to put on a separate post

Are you taking the piss, miss?

The map you see here ^ OUGHT, to have accompanied the previous 'post' . . . but, I had messed up the Parameter sizing on the word document I had used for the notes I had written and subsequently organized for the final draft. Try as I might, I couldn't remember 'how' to alter it. That is how I have done it the way I have.
Everything ok with you?

In May 1999 I visited the field. It has a great museum, by the way. I walked all over the fields, most of which are now covered by tree stumps and some pretty thick underbrush. I paid my respects to the burial mounds of the clans and visited the tall clan monument. All the time I felt I was in a very holy place. I was. Some day I want to visit Cumberland's tomb and pee on it.

There has got to be a sort of allegorical feel to the site because of what is known about the battle, a sacred place.
I am not too sure of Cumberland's burial site. He was a Duke, so he may be in Westminster Abbey or, he may be buried at his own stately home. (I'll let you know lol).
I had to post this map on this page - I had wanted it to accompany the previous post, about the beginning of the Highland Clearences, but, this map was too large & I have had to do them seperately.
