Clinton to Suspend Campaign?

This is from boston.com
After a day full of conflicting signals, Hillary Clinton's campaign
seems to be sending clearer ones today -- that she will gracefully exit
the stage and won't take her fight to the convention.

The Associated Press is reporting that she plans to acknowledge in her speech tonight that Barack Obama
has the delegates for the nomination. The AP is also saying advisers
have said that Clinton has made a strategic decision to suspend her
campaign and not formally end it, giving her leverage to negotiate with
Obama on various matters including a possible vice presidential
nomination for her
. She also wants to press him on issues he should
focus on in the fall, such as health care.

The Clinton campaign, however, is denying the AP report. "The AP
story is incorrect. Senator Clinton will not concede the nomination
this evening," the statement said.

Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe did say this morning that
once Obama reaches the majority of delegates, "I think Hillary Clinton
will congratulate him and call him the nominee."...

All that stuff during campaigns is the norm...jeez look at the hug John McCain put on Bush after Rove and Company lied and trashed him in South Carolina...I believe it has to be Hilary not another whit male or another woman who hasn't done nothing...we'll see if the Democrats can screw things up...

I read in the news today that Clinton dropped out of the race...

I wish Hillary would go fade into the sunset like any decent failed candidate. Every time she appears, there's tension and strife. She should not be VP.
Eky, do you have any idea what happened to lunaticwiseman? I miss him.

Well, I for one am very excited that Obama has finally clinched the nomination. Anyone old enough to remember knows that JFK was also a "Junior Senator", but he had the wisdom and the courage to make phenomenal changes- one of the biggest of which made Obama's campaign possible. Six years in the Senate is long enough to grasp how Washington does work- and to see how it could work. Obama's determination to do things differently is his loudest, clearest message of all. Right now he is really stirring things up with the VA. They are under investigation for misdiagnosing thousands of veterans with PTSD to avoid paying benefits. It took the VA almost 20 years to acknowledge all of the guys suffering from PTSD after VN. Sorry, but health care and disability entitlements are owed to our troops coming home from Iraq and must be counted as one of the costs of this ugly war. Ok, I'll get off my soap box.

Will there be much difference, apart from health care program, between Clinton and Obama? I dont know why, but I always had a preference for Clinton, but Obama is ok for me as well. Most important thing is to get rid of the present administration.

The only way I can see Hillary as Obamas running mate is if she ditches Bill.I can't see Bill and Barack getting along.I really think he did more harm than good for hillary's campaign.I also can't see Michelle Obama and Hillary getting along.Laurie

It's over and it's Obama...he has to pick Clinton, there's no other choice or the Democrats will lose key constituencies.
